Former Royal Engineer marks 10 years with leading Scottish tech firm
A former Royal Engineers soldier has celebrated ten years of service with Scotland’s leading cloud software company.
Allan James joined Eureka Solutions in 2012 from enterprise software firm Sage.
In his role as Sage Channel Manager, Allan oversees sales of Eureka Solutions Addons and development services to Sage Partners.
His time working for the Sage Partner Programme ignited his passion for sales and gave him a solid grounding in the tech industry, which he brought to his role at the East Kilbride-based company.
Allan said: “Although our range of products and services at Eureka Solutions has changed over the years, the approach of management has consistently put employees first.
“This approach allows us to build meaningful relationships with our clients as well as maintain a strong culture within.
“It’s a mantra that stuck with me as a Sapper in the Royal Engineers – remembering small details about someone which you can chat with them about the next time you see them.
“Ultimately, it’s the people you’re speaking to that buy from you, not the businesses. So, it’s crucial to create a relationship with those individuals.”
Following 15 years in the military, Allan attended a Sage 50 course and discovered a passion for sales. He would go on to work for Sage as its Channel Manager for Scotland.
However, after a decade with the British multinational; Allan was longing for a smaller, family-orientated working environment.
The veteran had created a strong bond with Eureka Solutions while working at Sage, and is looking forward to spending many more years with the cloud software experts.
Allan said: “It’s a great pleasure to celebrate 10 happy years working for Eureka Solutions.
“During my time here, I have taken immense pride in developing relationships with clients and my network has expanded considerably.
“It’s a privilege to have been a part of the company’s growth over the last decade, having expanded from a firm of 16 employees to a team of over 70.”
