A Walsall counselling clinic is set to strengthen awareness of its mental health services and reach more people in need of support after securing a £3,000 grant from Walsall Business Support.
Restoration Therapy, founded in 2021 by director Nordia Philpott, was established during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in response to growing demand for accessible mental health support at a time when many people were struggling to access traditional services.
The clinic, based at the Clock Tower in Walsall Arboretum, has since grown into a multidisciplinary team of qualified psychotherapists and counsellors supporting individuals across the West Midlands.
Restoration Therapy provides evidence-based mental health support including one-to-one counselling, group therapy programmes and specialist services for young people and individuals experiencing complex mental health challenges.
The clinic also delivers workshops, wellbeing initiatives and tailored workplace programmes designed to support emotional resilience and long-term wellbeing.
The grant will be used to strengthen marketing activity and raise awareness of the support available, ensuring more people across Walsall know where to turn if they or a loved one are experiencing difficulties with their mental health.
Nordia Philpott, Director of Restoration Therapy, said: “We were awarded this funding because we want to help more people. There are still too many individuals suffering in silence simply because they’re not aware of the support available to them. This grant will help us reach more people across Walsall so they know that if they need help, we’re here for them.”
Led by leading business figures to distribute funds collected from the legacy of Walsall Chamber of Commerce, Walsall Business Support funds projects to enhance the borough’s economy.
Walsall Business Support representative, Gill Durkin, said: “We are thrilled to support Restoration Therapy as they work to raise awareness of vital mental health services in our communities. Their commitment to accessible, high-quality support helps ensure people across Walsall can access the mental health services they need.”
Looking ahead, the organisation aims to become a leading counselling provider across the West Midlands, expand its service offering and develop a dedicated wellbeing centre. There are also plans to build stronger partnerships with organisations such as the NHS and local authorities to support long term, sustainable mental health provision.
Walsall Business Support offers grants and a free training needs analysis to businesses looking to generate growth, create employment or shape training opportunities within the borough of Walsall.
