A new taxi app, FRENZI, which has pledged to deliver a safer and more cost effective future for both riders and drivers, will launch in cities across the UK this Summer.
Frenzi App, which is currently valued at 76 million pounds, looks set to shake up the taxi market with its unique, safety-first features such as female only driver options, immediate police notifications and family accounts.
Stephen Clark, founder of Frenzi App, said, “I’m thrilled to bring Frenzi to market after years of app development. Our app is the first of its kind to hold positive driver experience in the same regard as positive rider experience. We want to transform the experience of using private hire apps for both riders and drivers alike.”
Just one of the ways that Frenzi intends to do this is by making it easier for drivers to make a fair wage. The app’s 57p flat commission fee stands way below the market average and pales in comparison to industry titan Uber’s, high percentages.
Further positioning themselves on the side of its drivers, the app will allow them to drive for as many other apps or fleets as they wish while being signed up to Frenzi App, in a bid to help drivers maximise their own profits.
On this, Stephen said: “As the creator of Frenzi, I carefully considered several factors when deciding on the acceptance fee. Affordability was a significant concern for me as I wanted to make Frenzi the app that every driver favours. By setting the acceptance fee at 57p, I will strike a balance between ensuring the app’s sustainability and offering competitive pricing.”
He continued, “After extensive market research, which played a crucial role in determining this fee, analysing the current market trends, competitive landscape, and driver issues & expectations enabled me to make an informed decision. The 57p acceptance fee not only blows the other market standards out of the water by positioning Frenzi as the cost-effective option for drivers but also enables just as good customer service, if not better, in some cases.”
Hassan Ahmed, who currently drives for a competitor, told us, “This will be life-changing for me as a driver; a flat acceptance fee is a breakthrough, offering complete trust and transparency, which is all we would ever want in a working environment. I have no idea how much a job costs the customer compared to what percentage is taken from me currently, and there’s no way of finding out”.
When it comes to transforming the rider experience, Frenzi has a number of unique features, driven by market research, that set the app apart from competitors.
As would be for any app of its kind, concerns for rider safety drive much of its features. Their tracking feature, named ‘mirror your loved one’ allows two users to connect and track each other’s driver, journey and destination in app.
Another safety feature, that founder Stephen is confident will be heavily used by riders, is the ability to choose female drivers only. In line with their ethos of protecting drivers and riders alike, this feature can also be used to enable drivers to choose only to accept rides from female users.
Stephen said, “Approximately only 2% of all taxi drivers nationwide are women. The gender gap in the industry is a big issue that needs to be dealt with.”
He continued, “One of the main barriers preventing women from pursuing a career in the private hire industry is the concern for their own safety. This feature, which prioritises the safety of both our female drivers and passengers, is one of the ways we look to help close the gender gap in this industry.”
