Tri-Tronics Company, Inc. will showcase its 3D Fusion Elevator Door Protection System at the 2026 NAEC Convention & Exposition, taking place September 28 through October 1 at McCormick Place in Chicago. Visitors can see the 3D Fusion System at Booth #558 throughout the event.
The system combines a high-performance 2D light curtain with a 3D Time-of-Flight sensor to provide multiple layers of elevator door protection. The technology is designed to detect passengers, carts, packages and other objects within the active detection zone while distinguishing between objects approaching the elevator, passing by or remaining stationary. The added layer of sensing is designed to help minimize unnecessary door re-triggers caused by nearby motion while maintaining protection at the elevator entrance.
“Elevator doorways can be active areas, especially in commercial buildings and other high-traffic environments,” said Cam Gough, Elevator Division Manager at Tri-Tronics. “The 3D Fusion system gives contractors another option for applications where understanding movement around the doorway is important.”
The system is designed for both new installations and modernization projects and supports center-parting and side-parting elevator doors. Internal and external sensor mounting options provide flexibility for different installation requirements.
For installers, the system includes pre-configured components, LED diagnostics and plug-and-play connectivity. Dedicated outputs allow integration with existing elevator controllers, while an available adapter can connect existing Tri-Tronics LeadingEDGE arrays to the 3D Fusion power supply controller.
The 3D Fusion System complies with ASME A17.1-2019 / CSA B44-19 and is designed for elevator environments where door protection and practical installation are important considerations.
