Christmas is coming to Devon early this year, with the announcement from The Mole Resort of a jam-packed season of festive fun, food and frolics for families, friends and couples to enjoy.

From 13th November to 26th December, the luxury resort destination will be transformed into a countryside wonderland for guests burrowing down for a one-of-a-kind Christmas experience. Festive-themed additions and activities included in breaks at The Mole Resort*:

●       Festive quiz night

●       Local carols singing with mulled wine

●       Festive entertainment, magician and disco for the kids

●       Beautifully decorated Christmas trees inside all lodges

●       Christmas story time orchestrated by local theatre company, Rattlebox Theatre

●       Fully-stocked chestnut cart

More jolly pursuits to get hotel and resort guests as well as locals in the spirit include meet and greets with Santa; Christmas wreath and cocktail making masterclasses; cookie decorating; festive cheese and wine tasting; Yuletide campfires and more! All of these activities are in addition to the 125-acre countryside ‘playground’, which offers everything from indoor and outdoor swimming and woodland walking trails to a dedicated kids’ play area.

The Mole Resort has also announced its Christmas Day Lunch (£95 per adult and £45 per child), Boxing Day Supper (£45 per person and £25 per child) and Festive High Tea (£18.50 per person) menus for guests to enjoy locally-sourced and inspired Christmas dishes during their visit**.

The specially launched Christmas Day menu begins with a festive Bellini and features delights including a choice of Beech Ridge duck and gingerbread bon bon, goats cheese and potato parfait, roasted root vegetable salad or Yuzu mustard-cured sea trout to start. For the main event, there’s 35-day aged sirloin of John May beef; butter and sage roasted turkey crown; pan-seared fillet of South Coast stone bass; a beetroot, brie and spinach tart; or a wild mushroom, spinach and truffle suet pudding. Be sure to leave room for dessert, as the menu boasts a chocolate tart, Christmas pudding and a selection of local cheeses.

What’s more, The Mole Resort has also created a limited-edition Festive Food Pack (£65 serving four people) for guests wanting to cook up their own festive feast in a self-catering lodge. Dedicated to championing the very best local produce and suppliers, these packs boast both sweet and savoury inclusions such as a turkey crown, seasonal vegetables, chicken jus, pigs in blankets, potatoes and garlic and thyme, mince pies and more.

*The ultimate festive escape to the Devonshire countryside in a stunning eco-conscious self-catering lodge is available from £299 per night (minimum stay 3 nights). Hotel room festive rates start from £129 per night (minimum stay 1 night).

**Note, Festive High Tea is available everyday from 13th November to 26th December 2023 and Christmas Day Lunch and Boxing Day Supper are available on select dates only. Resort guests can take advantage of 10% off Christmas lunch in Cellars Bar & Restaurant and the Boxing Day supper.
