TheCarCrowd, the UK-based syndicated ownership platform for investment-grade collectible vehicles, has appointed Adam Thorby, Founder of Supercar Driver, as Non-Executive Director.
The appointment formalises a closer strategic relationship between TheCarCrowd and Supercar Driver, two businesses operating at the intersection of automotive passion, community and alternative asset ownership.
Thorby founded Supercar Driver in 2010, building it into one of the UK’s most established private supercar communities. The organisation hosts large-scale driving events, international tours and member-only experiences across the UK and Europe.
In his role as Non-Executive Director, Thorby will support TheCarCrowd’s growth strategy, brand positioning and product development. The collaboration is expected to accelerate co-branded initiatives leveraging TheCarCrowd’s syndicated ownership model, with the first products anticipated to launch in Q2 2026.
The move reflects growing demand among enthusiasts and investors for structured access to high-value collectible vehicles, combining community participation with asset-backed ownership.
Adam Thorby commented:
“Supercar Driver was built on community and real-world driving experiences. TheCarCrowd has created a specialist ownership platform that gives enthusiasts structured access to rare and significant cars. I’m looking forward to helping expand awareness and developing innovative products that serve both communities.”
David Spickett, Founder of TheCarCrowd, said:
“Adam has built one of the most respected automotive communities in the UK. His experience in brand building and member engagement will be invaluable as we scale. This alignment strengthens our ability to deliver new ownership models that preserve important cars while making them more accessible.”
Further details regarding co-branded launches and community initiatives will be announced in the coming months.
