Specialist medical negligence practice, Cian O’Carroll Solicitors, has unveiled a strategic evolution for the firm developed in partnership with creative consultancy, The Studio of Possible, refining its identity to better reflect the business it has become and where it is heading next. Rather than reinventing the practice, The Studio of Possible team worked closely with the firm’s principle, Cian O’Carroll, to evolve what was already working, creating a more confident and cohesive identity across every interaction people have with the firm, while staying true to the practice’s values and reputation.
While the refreshed identity has coincided with continued business growth, the project was never about chasing expansion for its own sake. Instead, the focus was on ensuring the firm’s identity accurately reflected the quality of its work, the experience it provides clients and the direction of the business.
The project began with a clear, practical ambition: to ensure the firm was properly showcasing its own work in a digital age. After seeing other practices use cases secured by the firm to promote their own legal services, the team recognised the need to reclaim that narrative and communicate more effectively the expertise, experience and real-world impact behind its work.
Working with The Studio of Possible, the focus has been on ensuring the practice is represented authentically as a specialist legal firm with deep expertise in complex litigation, helping people whose lives have been significantly impacted by injury.
Seamus Begley, founder of The Studio of Possible, said: “The strongest, most recognisable businesses aren’t created by constantly reinventing themselves. They’re built by understanding what already makes them distinctive and refining that over time.
“With Cian O’Carroll Solicitors, there was already an excellent reputation and a clear sense of purpose. Our role was to help articulate that more clearly through every interaction people have with the business, helping the firm communicate in a way that feels authentic today while supporting wherever the firm goes next.”
The project followed a series of in-depth strategic workshops designed to explore Cian O’Carroll Solicitors’ purpose, personality and ambitions, before translating those insights into a refreshed visual identity and communications approach. The work included a refined logo, visual identity, redesigned website, refreshed social media presence, new video content and a consistent brand guidelines system designed to strengthen how the firm presents itself both online and offline.
Cian O’Carroll, principle of Cian O’Carroll Solicitors, said: “The truth is, I became increasingly frustrated seeing other firms use cases that our team had worked incredibly hard to win to market their own legal services. I realised we needed to do a better job of presenting who we are, what we stand for and the work we do in a digital age, and to reclaim some of the ground we had ceded.
“The Studio of Possible helped us do exactly that. The team took the time to understand our firm and used its vast expertise in communications and brand development to bring our work to life in a way that feels authentic to us.
“Ultimately, our work is about helping people whose lives have been profoundly affected by medical negligence. Through litigation that is handled properly and with care, we can help make those damaged lives a little better. The new identity gives us a much stronger platform to communicate that work and the values behind it.”
