Enacted on July 18, 2024, this foundational law transitions the European market to a mandatory digital identity model for nearly all physical goods. Regional manufacturers and exporters must now prepare for two critical milestones: the EU Digital Product Passport (DPP) Registry becoming fully operational on July 19, 2026, and the simultaneous implementation of the Ban on the Destruction of Unsold Goods for large enterprises.
