Saints Foundation signs housebuilder as new corporate patron

Saints Foundation, the charity of Southampton Football Club, has today announced that Persimmon Homes South Coast has joined as its latest Corporate Patron.

The Foundation is committed to transforming lives in the city of Southampton, helping its people to become healthier, more involved and empowered members of the community. It does this through a range of programmes including activities in schools, coaching, mental health support, and initiatives to help disabled people and older people become more active.

In the last year alone, the charity supported 4,522 people through 12 different programmes.  The new partnership with Persimmon Homes will focus on Saints Foundation’s current projects on employment and skills.

The charity runs the Saints Works programme, a 12-week employability programme which supports young people aged 16-25 who are not in education, employment and training. Through their work in local schools, the Foundation also delivers the Premier League Inspires scheme, which provides extra-curricular support for Special Educational Needs (SEN) pupils and other young people who are at risk of falling out of mainstream education. As a Top 100 apprenticeship employer in England, Persimmon will look to offer pathways into the world of work and employment opportunities to graduates of both schemes.

Graeme Cole, Sales Director at Persimmon South Coast said:

“Saints Foundation is a remarkable organisation that helps so many people every single day. We were truly impressed by the breadth and depth of the Foundation’s charitable work because it genuinely offers something for everyone in society, no matter what their age or background.

“We’re very much looking forward to working with Saints Foundation in the months and years ahead to help it do even more.”

Jazz Bhatti, Fundraising & Partnerships Manager at Saints Foundation added:

“We’re delighted to have Persimmon South Coast join as a corporate patron.

“Our work wouldn’t be possible without the help of companies like Persimmon, truly going above and beyond to support the local community. I’m incredibly grateful for their generosity.”

“We’re are eager to develop this partnership with Persimmon further so we can ‘march on’ together and do even more for the people that need us.”
