What started as a house hunt for their daughter turned into an unexpected move for Darren and Deborah Parker, after the couple fell in love with Bellway’s Penny Way development in Snaith.
In fact, the couple from Sherburn in Elmet, reserved their new Bellway home just two weeks after their daughter, Ishabelle had done the same.
Darren had originally accompanied his daughter to a viewing with absolutely no intention of moving. However, after seeing everything that Penny Way had to offer, himself and wife, Deborah, went straight back to look for themselves.
Darren said: “I’d only gone along to support Ishabelle while she looked around. Moving wasn’t on our radar, but as soon as we saw the development, we both knew this was the place we wanted to call home.”
“It all happened much quicker than we expected. We were really impressed with the development. The homes felt spacious, there was plenty of storage and the whole estate had a lovely feel to it. Once we’d seen it, we couldn’t stop thinking about it, we just had to make it happen!”
Since moving in, Darren and Deborah’s decision to move has been truly vindicated, as he explains. “We can firmly say that Penny Way is an amazing place to call home. It’s full of friendly families, lots of lovely scenery, wildlife, walks, space for kids to play and enough shops to satisfy all. We are very happy with the location and our lovely Bellway home; definitely of the highest quality; built right.”
Now settled into their new homes, the family are enjoying living just a short walk from one another, close enough to pop round to borrow anything they need!
Ishabelle said: “It’s lovely knowing we are so close. We all have our own space, but it’s nice being able to pop round and see each other whenever we want. We certainly didn’t expect to end up buying on the same development, but it’s worked out perfectly.”
Melanie Smith, sales director for Bellway Yorkshire said: “It’s always wonderful to hear stories like Darren and Deborah’s. Penny Way has been designed to appeal to buyers at every stage of life, and it’s fantastic to see two generations of the same family choosing to make their homes here.”
The house Darren and Deborah have purchased, is a three-bedroom detached Sawyer, featuring an open-plan kitchen, dining and family area, a separate living room and an ensuite and family bathroom. While, Ishabelle bought the three-bedroom Turner, which also features open-plan living, an ensuite and a modern family bathroom.
Built in the charming town of Snaith, the Penny Way development features a strong mix of different home types and sizes, including two, three, four and five-bedroom homes, and has proved extremely popular with buyers since it was launched in late 2024. Prices currently range from £289,995 to £434,995.
All of Bellway’s homes are built with today’s buyers in mind; offering modern layouts, high-quality finishes and flexible living spaces that suit contemporary lifestyles. All newly built Bellway homes also include an array of energy-saving features, such as solar PV panels, EV car chargers, Smart Thermostats and increased insulation – all of which help cut the costs of running a home.
