arling abseils, coffee mornings and sponsored walks have raised hundreds of pounds for good causes in the last month, thanks to selfless staff at a Rowlands Castle physiotherapy clinic.
A series of charitable activities have been keeping the team at Physio-logical busy in recent months, with funds raised to provide much-needed aid to Rowans Hospice and Macmillan Cancer Support.
Physio-logical founder Natalie March is passionate about fundraising, and these events are the latest additions to a long history of charity support from Natalie and the Physio-logical team.
Alongside staff members Kallum Pearson and Kate Lawton, Natalie took on the brave challenge of abseiling 100 metres down the Spinnaker Tower in aid of much-loved local cause Rowans Hospice.
Fundraising accounts for 90 per cent of the money needed to provide the hospice’s invaluable services, and the Physio-logical team managed to add more than £1,000 to the charity’s coffers with their daring challenge.
Physiotherapist Kallum said: “I feel proud to be part of a team that is always coming up with new ways to raise funds for good causes. It’s great to feel like we are helping people even when they’re not our patients.”
Soft tissue and massage therapist Kate added: “I love working for Physio-logical. Natalie is an inspiration to us all, to give back and do more for our community.
“We are in a profession where we want to help people improve their lives, and it is so rewarding to be able to do this outside of our jobs. It was amazing to be able to be a small part of the fundraising efforts.”
The team at Physio-logical, which recently celebrated its 15-year anniversary, also practised their baking skills for a Macmillan Coffee Morning in September.
With support from other local businesses and patients at the practice, the event raised £237 to support people living with and affected by cancer.
To raise even more money for Rowans Hospice, Natalie and her family recently took part in the Starlit Walk around the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.
Natalie was joined by her children, 9-year-old Henry and Phoebe, 7, her husband Lee March and father in law Alan March, who successfully raised a further £255 for the hospice which cared for Natalie’s mother-in-law Lesley March in 2018.
Natalie said: “It is really important for me to give back to the community, particularly Rowans Hospice which has a special place in my heart because of the incredible support it provides to people with life-limiting illnesses.
“I am passionate about fundraising and supporting local causes, and will continue to come up with ways to show my support. I am so grateful to have an incredible team and family who encourage and inspire me to continue giving back.”
Outside of the fundraising sphere, Natalie also joined Physio-logical staff and patients to take on their third annual beach clean at Hayling Beach.
The eco-conscious group collected nine bags of rubbish, including a rogue trainer, a pair of glasses and lots of plastic food containers and metal bars.
The annual tradition of the beach cleans began off the back of a Facebook group, Challenge 30, created by Natalie during lockdown to keep morale up and patients active.
