Buford, GA - March 5, 2026

Georgia’s Lanier Islands Resort invites engaged couples throughout the South to converge on the lakeside destination for an experience they aren’t soon to forget. On Sunday, March 22, the resort will play host to its first Wedding Open House of 2026. During the free-to-attend event, couples will have an opportunity to enjoy a tour of more than a dozen stunning indoor and outdoor wedding venues. They’ll also rub elbows with a wide array of wedding vendors – from cake bakers and DJs to photographers and videographers. Samples of some of the culinary team’s most popular catered dishes will be there for the tasting, and each couple will have a chance to be among the first to experience The Six at Legacy Golf Course – the resort’s new Par 3 course. For those who hit a hole-in-one, they will win $5000 off their Lanier Islands Wedding.* Couples who wish to attend are asked to RSVP by March 18 at https://weddings.lanierislands.com/wedding-open-house.

“Our Wedding Open Houses provide couples with a free sneak peek at why Lanier Islands Resort has been inducted into The Knot’s Best of Weddings Hall of Fame,” said Matthew Bowling, President of Lanier Islands Resort. “Beyond our picturesque lakeside backdrop, our resort has an incredible Wedding Team that works tirelessly to ensure an event that checks all the boxes and exceeds all expectations. Add to that a highly skilled culinary team and a thoughtfully curated list of vendors who are every bit as invested in delivering a dream wedding as we are. I should know! My wife and I said our own ‘I Do’s’ here at Peachtree Falls two and a half years ago. This event is their chance to peer behind the curtain and see, hear, taste, and feel all our capabilities firsthand. With a variety of accommodations, amenities, and attractions, we’re ideally designed for a destination wedding that flows seamlessly from the rehearsal to the reception. Our Open House attendees are welcome to experience it as a couple, or they may elect to bring their best man, maid of honor, or mother of the bride to add to the fun and help weigh in on their choice of venues.”

Hosted from noon to 2:30 p.m. on March 22, the Wedding Open House will kick off at Peachtree Pointe – one of the largest indoor/outdoor venues at Lanier Islands Resort. Couples will check in, receive a swag bag and map of the Islands, and enjoy the prospect of meeting a variety of vendors, sampling an array of dishes and cocktails, and playing some interactive games for a chance to win prizes. They can then enjoy a self-guided tour of venues, where members of the Wedding Team will be on hand at each venue to answer questions. Included on the tour is the resort’s newest addition to its venue portfolio, The Chapel on Lanier and Lakeside Garden. If they’re feeling lucky, couples can head to The Six for the chance to WIN $5000* off their wedding with a hole-in-one. To enhance their experience further, couples who have RSVP’d for the Wedding Open House are invited to spend Saturday night at Legacy Lodge for a special room rate of just $149.

Lanier Islands Resort is 45 miles north of Atlanta at 7000 Lanier Islands Parkway in Buford.

* Each eligible couple is permitted one shot to attempt a hole-in-one on the designated Par 3 hole during the open house event. The hole-in-one must be witnessed and verified by an authorized event representative. The wedding date must be booked at Lanier Islands Resort for 2026 or 2027, subject to availability. Winnings can only be applied to a minimum event spend of $10,000 before taxes and service charges are applied. Winnings do not apply to vendors or vendor rentals. May not be combined with other promotions or discounts.
