Crumplebury, is a state-of-the-art private, corporate and weddings events venue with two farm-to-fork restaurants and eleven bedrooms on the Whitbourne Estate. Home to the Evans family since the 1860s, it incorporates the critically-acclaimed, fine-dining Chef’s Table in Green Cow Kitchens, which serves seasonal menus using the very best produce foraged and grown on the estate. Eleven individually designed bedrooms, all named after the farms and coppices on the estate, feature stone and copper roll-top baths and breathtaking views. Crumplebury’s flexible entertaining spaces include The Grand Hall, which can seat 200 banquet-style, The Art Gallery, with an auditorium capacity of 120, The Atrium, The Drinking Trough bar and The Snug. The 1,500-acre estate is farmed organically with a historic flock of Lleyn sheep, Shorthorn, Hereford and Saler cattle and Tamworth and Gloucester Old Spot pigs. It’s also home to an established game shoot. Fruit and vegetables come from the Kitchen Garden. The chefs forage the woodlands and hedgerows for other culinary treasures. Off-grid for water, with a biomass boiler fed with waste wood from the forestry operation and four EV charging points in the car park, Crumplebury’s aim is to install solar panels and other sustainable energy systems over the coming months. Crumplebury is a family affair. Owned by husband and wife Joe and Keeley Evans, original artwork is by Joe’s artist father, Bill, and sister, Megan, and the oak tables were built by the couple’s brother-in-law. Uncle Chris fishes the Sapey Brook for brown trout.
