BEVERLEY, June 30, 2026

The Yorkshire division of national homebuilder, Bellway says a recent flurry of sales at its Bishop’s Gate development in Beverley show the Minster town is still very much the place East Riding buyers want to call home.

Being constructed on an 11-hectare site just off Woodmansey Mile, and with convenient access to Beverley’s local amenities, 80 per cent of the 300 homes on Bishop’s Gate have now been sold.

Melanie Smith, sales director at Bellway Yorkshire said: “Reaching 80 per cent sold in such a rapid time not only demonstrates the quality and mix of houses being built and marketed at Bishop’s Gate, but shows that Beverley really does have all-round buyer appeal.

“And it’s easy to see why – with its great array of local shops, restaurants and bars, excellent schools, a bustling town centre and close proximity to one of the region’s most exciting cities, beautiful countryside and a wonderful coastline.”

This all-round buyer appeal is also reflected in the mix of houses being built at Bishop’s Gate, which was planned to ensure there was something for everyone from first time buyers through to growing families and on to downsizers. The development features two-, three- and four-bedroom homes with prices currently ranging from £269,995 for a three-bedroom semi-detached to £310,995 for a four-bedroom, detached home

All of the homes are designed and built to the exacting high standards expected of a housebuilder that has been awarded a five-star status by the Home Builders Federation (HBF) for nine successive years. This rating is awarded only when 90 per cent or more of customers state they would happily recommend a housebuilder to a friend or family member. HBF’s ratings are based on a survey of all new home buyers over a calendar year.

Melanie added: “Our aim with any new development is always to build new communities that quickly become much-loved and integral parts of the area in which they’re built. As more and more people buy on Bishop’s Gate, it’s lovely to see it ticking those boxes and becoming a busy, happy new community.”
