Following an extensive renovation, Zimmer + Rohde unveils its newly redesigned showroom at Design Centre Chelsea Harbour in London. Conceived by the London based interior designer Theresa Obermoser, the new interior concept draws inspiration from Britain’s rich architectural heritage while offering a contemporary interpretation of comfort, materiality and textile design.
For the brand, the London showroom has been a key destination for interior designers, decorators and architects across the United Kingdom. The redesign transforms the space into far more than a traditional showroom, creating an immersive environment that brings the Zimmer + Rohde brand universe to life in an entirely new way.
Inspired by London‘s history and the character of its iconic Victorian townhouses, Theresa Obermoser reinterpreted classical architectural elements through a contemporary lens. Soft colour palettes, tactile surfaces, warm materials and thoughtfully curated textiles come together to create an atmosphere that balances timeless elegance with modern comfort. Obermoser states, “The intention was not so much to respond to the architecture of the building itself, but rather to enter into a dialogue with British history.”
Throughout the showroom, textiles become architectural elements in their own right. Draped fabrics, space-defining curtains, curated material displays and individually designed areas guide visitors through the brand‘s collections and diverse applications. The result is an immersive brand experience that combines inspiration, consultation and creative exchange.
More than a showcase for textile collections, the redesigned showroom serves as a place for inspiration, collaboration and client dialogue. Visitors are invited to experience Zimmer + Rohde‘s fabrics and materials within a residential and atmospheric setting, allowing them to appreciate first-hand how textiles shape interiors and influence the character of a space. The interplay of architecture, materiality and textiles creates a sensory experience that reflects the essence of the brand while providing a setting for personal consultation and creative interaction.
“The UK, and metropolitan London in particular, is a strategic client hub for us and one of the most important meeting points for the design and specifier community. With the redesign of our showroom, we wanted to create a space that showcases our textile expertise while fostering connection, inspiration and creative exchange. The new concept is a vision and representation of our brand’s magical world, curated for Britain’s cultural and design heritage, creating a unique experience for our clients and partners from all over the world,”- Jacob Sloth, CEO, Zimmer + Rohde.
In addition to the presentation and welcoming areas, consultation spaces, meeting rooms and workspaces have also been reimagined. The result is an open and inviting environment that encourages dialogue with clients and partners while expressing Zimmer + Rohde‘s core values of quality, craftsmanship and design expertise.
With the reopening of its London showroom, Zimmer + Rohde reinforces its longstanding commitment to the British market while signalling the future direction of the brand within the international interior design landscape.
