With championship belts on the line, Brazilian challengers drafted in, and growing talk of UFC call-ups, FSC 36 underlined what many in the sport already believe: Yorkshire is fast becoming one of the UK’s most productive MMA hotbeds.
Tom Mullen crowned FSC interim Welterweight champion
Tom Mullen was the first of the county’s standouts to seize his moment, capturing the interim welterweight title with an emphatic victory over Brazil’s Cristiano Cruz.
Mullen imposed himself from the outset, blending sharp striking with relentless pressure before sealing a decisive win to claim interim gold.
With the belt wrapped around his waist, Mullen made clear this is only the start.
“I went up against a dangerous opponent but I knew my level would show,” he said. “This is what we train for every single day.
“I’m not chasing it — but I’m ready for the UFC. When that call comes, I’ll take it.”
His performance drew one of the loudest reactions of the night and strengthened the growing belief that a shot on the global stage is imminent.
Callum continues the surge
Not to be outdone, brother Callum Mullen delivered another composed and clinical display in the lightweight division, defeating Brazil’s Elicarlos Pinhero.
Callum controlled proceedings before finishing strongly, further cementing the Mullen name as one to watch.
“We’ve built this the hard way,” he said. “No shortcuts, no easy fights. Me and Tom push each other every day. I’ve not had an opportunity to train as much, due to an injury, It’s not been the best of camps, but I got the job done tonight.
“People are starting to see what Yorkshire’s producing. We’re ready to take this to the world stage.”
‘The Assassin’ retains in ruthless fashion
In the evening’s main event, reigning FSC lightweight champion Shoiab Yousaf once again demonstrated why he is widely regarded as one of Britain’s premier talents.
Facing Brazilian challenger Arley Figueiredo, Yousaf wasted little time asserting his dominance. A sharp early exchange ended with a clinical first-round technical knockout, ensuring the belt remained in Yorkshire hands.
Measured and confident afterwards, Shoiab spoke like a man already eyeing the sport’s biggest stage.
“I just go out there, I’m focused and I get the job done” he said.
“I’ve defended my belt. I’ve beaten top contenders. I believe I’m UFC-ready right now. It’s something I leave to my management.”
Addy Khan shows heart of a warrior
Fan favourite Addy Khan also delivered a stirring display against Brazil’s Alex Cleberson, engaging in a high-tempo contest that had the crowd on its feet throughout.
His grit and connection with supporters once again marked him out as one of the promotion’s emotional leaders.
