The event took place from 18 to 20 September and brought over 1,200 young people and adult volunteers together for a weekend of activities. The programme included creative crafts and adventurous activities alongside opportunities to spend time with friends and meet other young people from across the county.
One Scout said:
“I really enjoyed Ignite because there was so much to do and it was a chance to try things I wouldn’t normally get to do at Scouts. It was also great being able to spend the weekend with my friends and meet other Scouts from across North Yorkshire.”
The event was supported by volunteers from across North Yorkshire. They helped run activities, marshal sessions and provide support across the site throughout the weekend.
Ignite is one of North Yorkshire Scouts main events for Scouts and Explorers. It gives young people the opportunity to spend a weekend camping together while trying activities they may not normally have access to at their local group.
