Wakefield logistics operator celebrating 10 years in business

Decade of Driving Success for Europa

Leading local logistics operator Europa Road is celebrating the 10th birthday of its Wakefield branch after another year of success.

Based at Calder Park, Europa Road is part of one of the UK’s fastest growing logistics operators, Europa Worldwide Group. The team has achieved a number of significant milestones in its decade of operation, and in the past year alone has increased its customer base by 20 per cent as well as recording its highest-ever profit month.

The branch, which was originally opened with a team of six people in 2013, has now doubled in size. Sam Hogg, who started working for Europa Road three years ago and was promoted to Branch Manager in September 2021, has been instrumental in driving the team’s success. Providing guidance and support to his colleagues and ensuring that customer satisfaction remains at the forefront of everything they do has been reflected in the upwards sales growth trajectory within the branch.

Sam Hogg commented: “We’ve had a fantastic decade in business, supporting clients from across the region who want to transport their goods into or out of Europe.  Providing solutions through our customs product (Europa Flow), helping businesses move their goods into Europe without the need for additional paperwork or having to wait for customs clearance.

“The Wakefield team are extremely knowledgeable when it comes to providing the right service for our customers, and we’re pleased to be assisting businesses in West Yorkshire to help them grow their EU customer base.

“The next few years are set to be very exciting as we continue to expand and grow, and I am looking forward to being part of the continued success.”

A number of significant senior team members at the company started their Europa careers in Wakefield; including  Caroline Lister, who is now Branch Manager a Europa Road in Sheffield.  Meanwhile, Nathan Lynn, who was the first Branch Manager for Europa Road Wakefield has now relocated to Dubai where he was responsible for the Europa Air and Sea’s UAE office.

Sales and Branch Network Director at Europa, Adrian Redmile, added: “We’re really proud of what our Wakefield team has achieved.  They were the first branch to be opened after the company was acquired in 2013 and are a real West Yorkshire success story.  They heralded the start of a new period of success for Europa.

“The last few years has seen major investment and growth. Our consignment volumes have continued to increase specifically since the launch of Europa Flow – a market leading DDP product, (Delivered Duty Paid), a solution that ensures the frictionless delivery of goods from the UK to the continent.  Europa Flow has been about staying one step ahead of the game, future-proofing our own business as well as that of our customers.

“Looking to the future, we have ambitious plans for growth in Wakefield, with further recruitment and internal promotions to support continued expansion.”

Europa Worldwide Group is an ambitious independent logistics operator with three divisions, Europa Road, Europa Air & Sea, and Europa Warehouse, and has been featured in The Sunday Times Top Track 250 for three years.
