Vismo, the tier-one critical event management company, has appointed Tom Cowling as CEO. He arrives from Ernst & Young, the multinational professional services partnership, where he was a business development director.
With a focus on expanding the customer base of the Vismo Locate & Protect App, which has more than 450,000 users, Tom says, “I’m very excited to have joined such a talented team, which has built a number of innovative products, all centred around the crucial purpose of keeping people safe at work.”

Fast moving
Before joining Ernst & Young, Tom worked in fast-moving B2B environments like Vismo’s, in the UK and internationally, where he gained knowledge and experience in growing businesses through developing new routes to market and expanding existing customer bases.
He says, “My experience at Ernst & Young in deal origination and the development of key strategic partnerships, has given me an excellent foundation for moving into the role of CEO at Vismo – and building new relationships with private and public sector organisations in the UK and North America.”
Strong position
Tom, who gained a BSc at the University of Edinburgh and lives locally, adds, “Critical event management is an exciting space to be involved in and help develop. With its best-in-class event management admin platform for supporting clients and their employees in emergencies, Vismo is in a strong position to grow in breadth and depth to meet existing and emerging threats to employer organisations and their staff.”
