Viking Bags, a manufacturer of motorcycle luggage and aftermarket parts, has added the Apex XL aluminum hard case series to its ADV touring lineup. The new series includes a 38-liter ADV top case and a 45-liter ADV side case pair, both built around a quick-disconnect system that lets riders mount and remove cases without tools, a practical feature for those who alternate between touring, daily, and ADV off-road use.
The Apex XL aluminum top case holds 2,300 cubic inches of gear, enough for a full-face helmet, and measures 16″ x 13.5″ x 13″. The lid is key-lockable and forms a weather-tight seal. Four tie-down points on the lid allow riders to strap extra gear on top when needed. An internal organizer, stainless steel hinges, aluminum carry handles, and reinforced glass fiber corner caps are all part of the build. Notably, each top case ships with a pair of LED lights and a solar-powered power bank, both of which serve a clear purpose on multi-day or remote routes.
The side cases add 2,746 cubic inches of storage when paired, with each case carrying up to 22 pounds. Built low and wide at 19.3″ x 9″ x 14.6″, the side case profile maintains ground clearance during cornering. The lids are removable via a quick-release fastener, so loading and unloading do not require detaching the case from the bike. Like the top case, both side cases are 100% waterproof with precision-welded seams and self-piercing rivets, and each includes LED lights and a solar power bank.
The Apex XL system currently fits a wide range of bikes. Compatible models include the BMW R 1300 GS, R 1250 GS, the Harley Pan America 1250 and 1250 Special, the Honda Africa Twin, the Triumph Tiger 1200 and Tiger 900, the Yamaha Ténéré 700, and the Suzuki V-Strom 1050.
