Viking ADV Hard Side Cases Targets Long-Distance H-D Pan America Riders With Practical, Trail-Proven Features
Viking Bags, a U.S.-based maker of motorcycle luggage and custom parts, has announced the release of its 45L Apex XL Aluminum Side Cases, a model-specific fit for the Harley-Davidson Pan America RA1250/S (2021 to current). The launch addresses a growing demand among ADV riders for luggage that can handle both daily commutes and multi-week expeditions without compromise.
Built Around Real-World Riding Demands
The cases are sold as a matched pair and offer a combined storage of 2,746 cubic inches. Each case carries up to 22 lbs of cargo and has a lid opening of 17.5″ x 7.75″, wide enough for easy packing even with gloves on. The reinforced aluminum shell, welded edges, and self-piercing rivets create a fully waterproof seal, keeping contents dry across wet roads and stream crossings alike. Key-lockable latches and stainless steel hinges contribute to both security and long-term wear resistance.
Mounting System Designed for Quick Removal
Each set ships with free metal quick-mount hardware, allowing riders to remove or reattach the cases without tools. Glass-fiber corner caps maintain ground clearance during cornering, while lid restrictors add stability for heavier loads. The internal organizer helps separate and secure smaller items during transit.
Off-Grid Features Included as Standard
A notable aspect of the Apex XL ADV side case is what comes factory-installed: a solar power bank and a pair of LED interior lights. Both additions speak directly to the needs of riders on remote, multi-day routes where power access is limited. Four tie-down points on each lid allow additional gear, such as tent rolls or dry bags, to be secured on top of the cases.
Availability
The Apex XL cases are available in silver and black finishes through the Viking Bags website. More details on fitment and specs for the Harley Pan America hard side cases are available directly on the product page.
