New appointment reflects Utimaco’s strategic ambition to significantly increase its Solution and as-a-Service business in the coming years
Utimaco, a leading global provider of IT security solutions, today announces Hacan Tiwemark, a long-serving Solutions and Services professional who has previously served as Utimaco’s Vice President of Professional Service and Solutions, as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO).
The appointment comes as Utimaco begins to realize its strategic ambition to significantly increase their Solution-as-a-Service business in the coming years. Tiwemark will be a major part of the execution of the strategy across all business units and will be charged with strengthening the company’s service processes and service operations, ultimately transforming the company into a recurring-revenue service business.
Hacan Tiwemark has held various management positions at Siemens Nixdorf, Siemens Business Services and Wincor Nixdorf. Prior to joining Utimaco, he was Group Vice President, Global Head of Service Delivery & Operations at Giesecke+Devrient Mobile Security. Combined, he has more than 25 years of experience in Solutions and Services, all the way from Solution design, Solution Sales, System integration, Managed Services and operation of critical Cloud/ DC operations.
“I am hugely proud to have been chosen to lead this vital transition after what is a relatively short time at the company. Utimaco has arguably one of the most important tasks in the modern world, securing data, and throughout my career I have been witness to the change from security being a one-off expense handled purely in-house to a practice that blurs the lines between what is inside and outside the company in terms of expertise and is, crucially, built on lasting relationships rather simply being supplier and client,” said Hacan Tiwemark, Chief Operating Officer at Utimaco. “Utimaco’s clients include governments and businesses across the world who are at the forefront of their industries and serious about the challenges of living in a digital society. I am extremely gratified to be at a key position at this company during such a crucial time in their evolution.”
Stefan Auerbach, CEO of Utimaco, said: “Utimaco is extremely pleased to welcome Hacan to our board during this time of exciting change at our company. We have seen him lead transformative change at many of our peers and in the past two years have greatly benefited from his leadership and insight. We are certain that he will be a major asset to the company as we transition to a service-based approach.”
