NorthRow, based in Abingdon’s Milton Park, has become the first business in Oxfordshire to be certified by the UK Government as an Identity Service Provider (IDSP) for right to work checks.
As part of temporary adjustments introduced in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, employers were able to carry out right to work checks remotely, via video call. As of October 2022, these adjustments came to an end.
Employers wishing to verify the identities of prospective employees must now perform manual, face-to-face checks of documentation, or use an IDSP to complete digital identity verification for right to work checks.
Fines for non-compliance with right to work legislation were in excess of £1m in Q1 of 2022, with 16 penalties totalling £300,000 being issued to businesses in London and the South East alone.
NorthRow’s certified status provides assurance that completing right to work checks using its software will ensure businesses meet all relevant guidance and standards, establishing a statutory excuse against civil penalties, and supporting continued compliance with the very latest Home Office and Government legislation.
