Within the framework of the SYMBA project, we have developed the H4C Evaluation Model, a self-assessment and planning tool designed to support Industrial Symbiosis and Industrial-Urban Symbiosis initiatives.
The tool aims to support facilitators, coordinators and industrial stakeholders involved in industrial collaboration ecosystems by helping them assess their current situation, identify strengths and areas for improvement, and reflect on potential actions to enhance collaboration and circularity practices.
We are currently looking for external participants interested in testing the tool and providing feedback on its usability, relevance and overall usefulness.
Who can participate?
We are looking for:
- Facilitators or coordinators of industrial collaboration ecosystems;
- Industrial partners involved in IS or I-US initiatives.
Participants from the bio-based industrial sector are particularly encouraged to participate.
About the H4C Evaluation Model
The tool is provided in Excel format and is structured into five sections:
- General information;
- Assessment of key topics;
- Yes/No questionnaire on specific areas;
- Suggested improvement actions;
- Planning section for future actions.
The tool does not require sensitive or quantitative data and focuses only on existing practices and actions. Completing the tool typically takes around one hour, although additional time may be needed if consultation with other stakeholders is required.
Why participate?
By participating in this testing phase, you will be able to:
- Gain a structured overview of your Hub or initiative;
- Identify strengths and opportunities for improvement;
- Reflect on possible actions to strengthen collaboration and circularity.
What is expected from participants?
Participants will be invited to:
- Attend a short introductory online meeting;
- Complete the H4C Evaluation Model tool;
- Fill in a short feedback questionnaire.
After completing the tool, participants will be asked to share their feedback within the agreed deadline.
Confidentiality and use of results
All responses will be treated confidentially and analysed only in aggregated form. No individual organisation will be identified. The collected feedback will be used exclusively to improve the H4C Evaluation Model and its future application.
