Ontario, Canada based Dayna Shereck has a long list of accolades and success in the music industry – both internationally and domestic. Her co-written songs have been featured on independent albums and received radio play on the BBC and across North America.
She first took her songwriting passion to Nashville 11 years ago, building strong collaborations as an unsigned writer with Dan Hodges Music. She was a semi-finalist in the International Songwriting Competition from 2012 to 2014 and a finalist in 2014.
Dayna is a well known player on the Canadian music scene as well. In her home country she was the Songworks Co-Chair in 2017 with the Songwriters Association of Canada and has collaborated with writers like Dave “Dwave” Thompson and producers like Russel Broom.
Her debut EP, “Suitcase Full of Dreams,” came out in 2015, along with her first film placement in “On The Wing.” Her second EP, “Chasing The Moon,” released in 2018, garnered national airplay on CBC Country.
in 2020, she released “Hard to Forget,” a collaboration with Jamie Warren and Carrie DeMeyer, which aired on SiriusXM CBC Country. Produced by J. Richard Hutt, Dayna continues to work with artists in Toronto and Nashville and is recording her first Americana EP with JK Gulley in Kitchener, ON.
She also runs an Airbnb that doubles as a vacation rental and songwriting retreat in Prince Edward County, ON. Located on Mary Street, Evermore Guest House is a 5 minute walk to the beautiful Royal Hotel as well as a slew of new and highly coveted restaurants nearby. Prince Edward County, which has been called the Hamptons of The North by Vogue Magazine, has become a favourite staycation spot as it is perfectly situated between Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal.
“There are a few framed song lyrics scattered through the guest house, and I plan to incorporate more in the future,” says Shereck, a songwriter with airplay on CBC County and SiriusXM who wanted to incorporate music throughout the house.
Evermore features a music room with a couple of instruments for guest use, arustic vintage record player with a worn in collection and even a couple of Taylor Swift references throughout.
“Music has been a recurring theme throughout my life, even before I became a songwriter. There are a few framed lyrics scattered throughout the guest house and I hope to include more. U2 and Taylor Swift hold a special place in my heart as all country music,” she says.
Evermore Guest House is also available to be rented as an artist’s retreat throughout the off season.
