Pita Chip Celebrates One Year at The Concourse at Comcast Center with Free Entrees for the Community

All food is made fresh from scratch every morning at a single central kitchen and distributed daily to each location. Customers build their own bowls and pitas from a selection of proteins, toppings, and house-made sauces with proprietary spice blends. The menu blends authentic Middle Eastern street food traditions with flavors shaped by Philadelphia’s multicultural food scene.

Co-founder and head chef Omar Alsaadi, who was raised in Damascus, Syria, draws on the cooking traditions of his childhood while incorporating techniques and influences from his life in Philadelphia. “One bite of our falafel and I am transported back to Damascus, smelling all the wonderful street vendor foods,” Alsaadi says. “At Pita Chip, our food reflects that diversity, while fundamentally remaining Middle Eastern street food. I call it Modern Middle Eastern.”
