North Wales-based business strengthens workforce and futureproofs for growth with support from freelance People Consultant.

Snowdon Timber Products, with its headquarters in Bangor and an outlet in Mochdre, is fast-tracking its growth plans after securing new commercial opportunities, and transforming its people strategy with the expert support of local freelance People Consultant, Cath Patterson of Talent Growth Consulting in St Asaph.

Keen to tackle challenges around attracting the right talent and futureproofing its workforce, the business partnered with Cath earlier this year to review its people needs, refresh recruitment processes, and build solid foundations for sustainable growth.

In just a few months, the results are speaking for themselves. The business has made several key hires – including a pivotal leadership appointment who’s already making a positive impact, implemented HR software to streamline people management, and overhauled its recruitment and onboarding processes to enable smarter hiring decisions and improve the candidate and employee experience. It has also created training and progression opportunities, promoting high-performing team members into new roles.

Chris Kerry, a recent addition to the team, commented: “I’m thoroughly enjoying my time here. My colleagues are friendly and helpful, and the company encourages suggestions from all employees, which has resulted in plenty of positive developments already. The business is growing from a strong foundation and we’re working closely with some major retailers – there are exciting times ahead!”

Cath Patterson, Founder of Talent Growth Consulting, said: “It’s been brilliant working alongside Snowdon Timber Products as they turn their ambitions into action. They’ve embraced new ways of working, focused on getting the right people in the right roles, and the positive results are already showing.”

With momentum building, two newly created positions are now being recruited within the e-commerce team – a Product Lister and Analyst, and a Photographer/Videographer – with additional hires planned for later this year to support growing demand and ongoing business development. Details of current opportunities can be found on the company’s brand-new careers website: www.snowdontimber.co.uk/careers.

Jody Goode, Managing Director of Snowdon Timber Products, added: “Engaging Cath has been a brilliant decision. She’s helped us sharpen our recruitment strategy, streamline onboarding and HR processes and secure great people – including a fantastic new supervisor who’s already driving real change. We feel in a much stronger position to continue to grow at pace, and we’ll continue to invest in our people, systems, machinery and marketing to support our ambitions.”

Cath Patterson works with ambitious small and medium-sized businesses across North Wales and beyond, helping them overcome people challenges, hire smart, and build brilliant, resilient teams ready for the future.
