Open event to showcase work of industry-leading veterinary practice

Pet owners and animal lovers will get a rare chance to enjoy a glimpse behind the scenes of one of Cambridgeshire’s leading vet practices during an open day later this month.

Village Vet’s flagship Whittlesford practice is throwing open the doors of its Station Road West clinic from 4pm to 8pm on Wednesday June 21, with activities available for both children and adults.

Whittlesford’s Lead Vet Adrian Huica says the event is a chance for the Village Vet team to engage further with its community and treat people to an insight into the world of veterinary care.

Adrian said: “We value our local community hugely and hope this open day will be a wonderful opportunity for families – both clients and non-clients – to look around and learn more about the veterinary world.

“We’re offering an exclusive glimpse inside our operating theatre, dental suite and our imaging centre which is for used for digital X-rays and ultrasound.

“There will be plenty of activities for everyone to enjoy, including our interactive educational stations, the chance to scan a soft toy for microchips and to dress up as a vet surgeon.

“Guests can also test their knowledge with fun and interactive quizzes and participate in our ‘Ask the Vet a Question’ session.

“Our expert team will also be providing free advice on worming, fleas, ticks, and travelling with pets.

“At 7pm, Dr Rosie Hunter, our advanced practitioner in emergency and critical care, will give a talk on pet first aid for the summer and beyond.

“We’ll also be serving refreshments throughout the event so there’s plenty of reasons to embrace this exciting opportunity to discover the world inside your local veterinary practice.

“We certainly hope to see as many people as possible pay us a visit and enjoy spending some time with us at the practice.”

Places for Dr Hunter’s pet first aid talk are limited. To secure a spot, register via the practice’s website.

Village Vet, which has six practices in Cambridgeshire is owned by Linnaeus and the Whittlesford practice is its flagship, a purpose-built, state-of-the-art clinic providing the highest standards of service and care to both pets and their owners.
