Nominations now open for Leeds Digital Festival Awards 2023

The Leeds Digital Festival Awards, which celebrates innovation and success in the technology and digital sector across Yorkshire, has officially opened its 2023 nominations.

The awards, hosted in partnership by Amsource, a specialist recruitment consultancy focused on the tech sector, and Ward Hadaway, a leading Leeds law firm, are held each year to celebrate the innovation, creativity and excellence of tech businesses born and bred in the region. They recognise outstanding achievements across various categories and, this year, feature eleven categories, including one new addition which is ‘Tech Team of the Year.’

Andrew Maeer, founder and CEO, Amsource, said: “The Leeds Digital Festival Awards are a testament to the exceptional talent and groundbreaking work happening within the technology and digital sectors in Leeds and the wider city region. We are thrilled to provide a platform to showcase and celebrate the innovation, creativity, and success that defines our industry. We are looking forwards to hearing the stories of our tech sector’s successes.”

This is the sixth year Amsource, supported by Ward Hadaway, has hosted the awards. The nominations will remain open until August 14. The winners will be announced on Thursday September 28 at an awards ceremony in central Leeds.

Bill Goodwin, head of IP/IT at Ward Hadaway Leeds, said: “We are proud to partner with Amsource in recognising the outstanding contributions of individuals and organisations in the technology and digital sector across the region. We work with a number of digital and tech companies in Leeds and the wider area, from startups to established businesses, supporting them on a range of legal issues and understand the tech landscape well. These awards demonstrate our commitment to championing innovation and excellence within the industry.”

The Leeds Digital Festival, which is taking place 18-29 September this year, is a city-wide celebration of technology, digital innovation, and entrepreneurship. As one of the largest tech festivals in the UK, it offers a diverse range of events, including panel discussions, workshops and networking sessions, attracting businesses from various industries and disciplines. The festival plays a vital role in promoting Leeds as a hub for technology and digital advancement, facilitating the exchange of ideas and driving economic growth.

Stuart Clarke, director of the Leeds Digital Festival, said: “The festival brings together industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and technology enthusiasts to showcase the city’s vibrant tech scene. It serves as a platform for knowledge sharing, collaboration, and networking opportunities, fostering growth and attracting investment in the technology and digital sector. I look forward to the awards evening each year – good luck to all those businesses and entrepreneurs who enter.”
