Michigan Roofing and Restoration/ Ladd Construction, LLC—formerly known as Michigan Metal Roofing and part of the Ladd Roofing family. Ladd Roofing is proud to announce that Vice President Raquel White and Director of Operations Josen Arborgast are among the founding members of a new Grand Rapids Council for the National Women in Roofing (NWIR), a national organization dedicated to supporting and advancing the careers of women in the roofing industry.
The council’s first event—a Lunch & Brainstorm session—will be held Thursday, June 19, 2025, from 12:00 to 1:00 PM at Nexus Life Center, 1181 58th St SW, Wyoming, MI.
National Women in Roofing is a volunteer-driven organization that empowers women across all roles in the roofing sector, from field technicians to management, through mentoring, networking, education, and recruitment. The new Grand Rapids Council aims to build a vibrant local community where women can connect, share ideas, and access resources to advance their careers.
The June 19 event invites women in all areas of roofing—regardless of role or experience—to help shape the council’s vision and future programming. Attendees will discuss the NWIR’s mission, brainstorm outreach and event ideas, and learn about open board positions. Lunch will be provided, and all voices are welcome, whether or not attendees are interested in serving on the council board.
“This is an exciting opportunity to create a supportive network for women in roofing right here in West Michigan,” said Raquel White, Vice President of Ladd Roofing. “We want to hear from women at every stage of their careers and build a council that reflects the diversity and strength of our local industry.”
