Altrincham, Greater Manchester, 28th October 2025

Top 200 UK law firm Myerson Solicitors is delighted to announce that it has been shortlisted for the ‘Transition of the Year’ at the UK Employee Ownership Awards 2025, hosted by the Employee Ownership Association (EOA).

This highly regarded award celebrates organisations that have successfully made the move to employee ownership and shown a deep commitment to fostering engagement, shared purpose, and inclusive decision-making throughout their business.

In September 2024, Myerson Solicitors made history as the first law firm in Manchester to become 100% employee-owned, with ownership transferred to an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) established to benefit all its employees. This transformative step secured the firm’s independence for the long term and ensured that every employee has a meaningful stake in Myerson’s continued success.

Carl Newton, CEO of Myerson, commented: “We are incredibly proud to be shortlisted for Transition of the Year at the UK Employee Ownership Awards. Our move to employee ownership was a pivotal moment in Myerson’s journey, a decision rooted in our belief that our people are the heart of our success. To be recognised by the EOA for the impact of that transition is a tremendous honour.”

The ‘EO Transition of the Year’ award recognises a shining example of a successful transition for businesses that became employee-owned between 1 September 2024 and 1 September 2025. The category is judged by a panel of experts from across the employee ownership community. The awards are sponsored by Baxendale Employee Ownership.

James de le Vingne, Chief Executive of the EOA, said: “Congratulations to Myerson on being shortlisted for the Employee Owned Transition of the Year. It’s a remarkable accomplishment that speaks volumes to the power of employee ownership evidenced through the exceptionally high calibre of entries we’ve received this year.

“Proudly employee-owned businesses like Myerson are leading the way in developing great EO practices, delivering increased employee wellbeing and business performance, and contributing to people-powered growth in the UK.”

Winners will be announced at the EOA Annual Conference on Tuesday 25 November 2025 at the Telford International Centre.
