Luxury Evesham hotel shortlisted as ‘Hotel of the Year’ in Worcestershire tourism awards

The Wood Norton is celebrating excellence after being named as a finalist in this year’s tourism awards by Visit Worcestershire.

Organised by the county’s official tourism board, the annual awards ceremony celebrates the best of Worcestershire, including hospitality, attractions, and business venues. This year, a record 110 entries were received from a wide range of tourism businesses.

After two rounds of judging by industry experts, The Wood Norton is one of five finalists shortlisted for the award, and this year they’re hoping to take the crown and go on to represent Worcestershire at the Visit England Awards for Excellence.

Winners will be announced at West Midlands Safari Park’s glamorous Treetops Pavilion on Friday 24th March 2023. The host for the evening will be comedian, actor, writer and presenter, Hal Cruttenden, best known for appearances on ‘Live at the Apollo’ and ‘Have I Got News For You?’.

Steve Sweeney, General Manager at The Wood Norton, said: “I am extremely delighted that The Wood Norton has been shortlisted as one of five finalists at the Visit Worcestershire Tourism Awards.

“Since The Wood Norton opened in late 2012, we have worked extremely hard to create a luxurious and comfortable experience for our guests and I am incredibly proud of our team for their hard work.

“We are really looking forward to the ceremony in March, and we wish all other finalists the best of luck.”

Equidistant from Worcester, Stratford-upon-Avon and Cheltenham, The Wood Norton is a Grade II listed Victorian hall based in the heart of Evesham. Built by the Duc D’Orleans, the four star hotel opened its doors in 2012 following an extensive £10 million refurbishment programme.
