Press Release

Small businesses in London and beyond gathered at Metro Bank in Piccadilly this April for the first Central London meeting of fast-growing network Get Connected.

Get Connected began in Reading, Berkshire, as the brainchild of Kristy Roff & Suzanne Evett of the award-winning outsourcing agency Get Ahead and their local Metro Bank. They were looking for a different way to network that was more relaxed and informal. They set out to create events that were simply about bringing businesses together – not ‘networking’ as you know it.

The inaugural meeting took place at Metro Bank in Reading in 2023. A Basingstoke meeting swiftly followed, along with Colchester, Guildford, Newbury, Southampton and more, as the event’s popularity spread across the southeast and as far north as Leeds.

Get Connected events are free, social meetups for local businesses to ‘Get Connected’. Everyone is welcome – there is no locking out of any profession, and no expectations around visitors or referrals. There are no elevator pitches, and visitors are encouraged to stay for as long or as short as they like.

The Piccadilly event will take place on the second Tuesday of each month, at Metro Bank, 10.00 – 11.30, with the next meeting on 12th May.

“What a sunny morning we had to officially launch Get Connected Piccadilly in partnership with Metro Bank (UK), and what a fantastic start it was.

As Founder of Get Ahead, I couldn’t be prouder to see this become our 15th monthly meeting across the network. Watching new connections form, conversations flow, and energy build in the room is exactly why we do this, and today ticked all those boxes.

A huge thank you to the incredible Metro Bank team for hosting us so brilliantly and to my fellow Get Connected hosts Kristy Roff and Dave Webster. Their support, energy and collaboration are vital in bringing these events to life.

Next stop, we are looking to launch in the City of London very soon! If you’re looking for genuine, welcoming networking with real conversations, we’d love to see you there.”
