Leeds-based energy consultancy Smarta Energy is celebrating its second anniversary, marking two years of rapid growth, industry collaboration, and measurable impact across the UK energy sector.
Since launching in April 2024, the business has quickly established itself as a trusted partner for organisations seeking to better manage energy costs, improve efficiency, and navigate an increasingly complex and volatile market. Working across a range of sectors, Smarta Energy supports businesses in taking a more proactive and commercially focused approach to energy.
At the core of this growth has been a clear shift away from traditional, transactional energy services towards a more strategic model. Through a combination of energy management, procurement expertise, and on-site generation solutions, Smarta Energy is helping organisations move beyond viewing energy as a fixed cost, instead positioning it as a controllable and optimisable part of their operations.
Alongside its commercial growth, Smarta Energy has built strong partnerships across the industry, working with leading suppliers including ENGIE, EDF, Valda Energy, npower, and Crown Gas & Power, as well as supporting high-profile clients such as Fulham Football Club Limited.
Internally, the business has experienced significant expansion, growing from its co-founders into a team of over 39 employees in just two years. This growth reflects increasing demand for its services, as well as a continued investment in building a capable and forward-thinking team.
Beyond business performance, Smarta Energy has remained committed to supporting the local community. Recent initiatives include the “Running 9–5 for Cash for Kids” fundraiser, where Group Managing Director Kieran Dixon completed a 74km treadmill challenge, raising funds for disadvantaged children across North and West Yorkshire. The initiative also resulted in 74 trees being planted (due to take place in July 2026), reinforcing the company’s commitment to environmental impact.
This forms part of a wider ongoing partnership with Cash for Kids, with Smarta Energy raising £3,707 over the past six months, alongside supporting initiatives such as Mission Christmas, where the team helped pack gifts for over 600 children across the region.
Kieran Dixon, Group Managing Director at Smarta Energy, said:
“Reaching two years is a significant milestone for us as a business. We’ve built strong foundations in a short space of time, but more importantly, we’ve built a team and a network of partners that share the same mindset, delivering real, practical value for our clients.
The energy market continues to evolve, and with that comes both challenge and opportunity. Our focus is on helping businesses navigate that complexity with confidence, while continuing to grow in a way that stays true to our values.”
Alongside its external impact, Smarta Energy has also focused on supporting individuals and creating opportunities within the local community. In a highly competitive job market, the company has provided internships and placement opportunities to students, helping them gain valuable industry experience and progress into future roles. This commitment reflects a broader focus on developing talent and investing in people at all stages of their careers.
The company has also built a culture centred around flexibility, communication, and support, recognising the importance of balancing professional performance with personal wellbeing.
One Smarta Energy employee commented:
“I’ve been genuinely blown away by the support I’ve received since joining Smarta. Lee and Kieran, in particular, go above and beyond, as long as you communicate, they’ll do everything they can to support you. It’s great to feel recognised for your hard work, while also having that understanding if you’re ever struggling. I wish more workplaces were like this. Plus, the frequent cupcakes and donuts in the office kitchen do help”
This people-first approach continues to play a key role in Smarta Energy’s growth, helping to attract and retain talent while building a supportive and high-performing team.
Looking ahead, Smarta Energy is focused on continuing its growth trajectory, with plans to further expand its capabilities across energy management, on-site generation, and infrastructure delivery. As the energy landscape continues to evolve, the business remains committed to providing practical, commercially driven solutions that deliver real-world results.
