Laros, The North West’s Popular Greek Eatery, Announces Birmingham Expansion

Laros, a popular authentic Greek eatery that is already a favourite in the North West, will now be available in Birmingham following further expansion.

Opening a Dark Kitchen this Thursday 12th January in the heart of the city centre on St George’s Street, Laros will introduce authentic Greek street food to Birmingham for the first time.

Already established in both Liverpool, with two sites on the city’s much-loved Bold Street and in the heart of South Liverpool’s Mossley Hill, and Manchester with a Dark Kitchen in Ardwick, Laros is known for its authentic Greek street food dishes created by owner Nikolaos Fylladitakis.

Originally from Crete, the entrepreneur is keen to showcase authentic Greek cuisine that is of the highest quality, with the majority of Laros’ ingredients sourced and imported directly from Greece.

Other ingredients that cannot come from Greece, are locally sourced using trusted independents.

Laros has been created to showcase the true authenticity of Greek street food and is a place where people can enjoy the ease of street food, whilst also experiencing the essence of fine cuisine. Ultimately, Laros brings a taste of the most popular Greek street food to the UK, exactly as you would have it if you were to eat it in Greece.

Its new Birmingham site, which has created five jobs locally, will operate as a takeaway of the future; allowing guests to enjoy delicious, high quality food from the comfort of their home.

Offering its full authentic Greek food menu, the people of Birmingham will be able to tuck into Laros’ renowned chicken and honey or pork and tzatiziki gyros, as well as their popular souvlaki skewers.

Also available are vegetarian and vegan operations, with a full Laros Green vegan menu that includes plant-based gyros options such as courgette fritters, tomato cakes and falafel, and oyster mushrooms make excellent meat-free alternatives.

Laros Green is made up of carefully created vegan dishes that don’t contain any artificial or processed ingredients; everything is made from natural, high quality produce, echoing Laros’ main menu that contains only the highest quality ingredients where they source as much meat and dairy from Greece itself, before turning to trusted, independent suppliers for everything else.

Laros Green’s vegan ingredients have been expertly handled in-house to occasionally emulate flavours including cheese and meat with everything made fresh on-site daily.

Open everyday, Laros will be available to order via Deliveroo and UberEats initially, and will also soon be available on Just Eat.

Owner Nikolaos Fylladitakis has worked in the hospitality industry for many years, owning his own restaurants in Liverpool. He opened Laros’ Liverpool Bold Street site in May 2021, and within six months had expanded into Manchester, opening a dark kitchen in Ardwick to offer the highest quality, authentic Greek cuisine to the area via delivery. In September 2022, Laros opened its second Liverpool eatery in South Liverpool.

Nikolaos explained: “We’re very excited to be bringing Laros to Birmingham for the first time and to introduce the city to authentic Greek street food that we create. Laros was born out of wanting to showcase authentic Greek dishes and produce, and traditional Greek recipes that people eat there every day including the Greek staple of gyros as well as the tomato cakes and courgette fritters.

“There’s something for everyone on the menu at Laros so I’m confident Birmingham will really enjoy our delicious main and vegan menu that will be available to order from Thursday 12th January.

“This is a huge step for us having a presence outside of the North West and myself and the team couldn’t be more delighted to have landed in Birmingham; a bustling city that’s bursting with an exciting and diverse culinary scene.’

Laros will be available to order Monday-Thursday from 12pm-11pm, Friday-Saturday 12pm-12am and Sunday 12pm-10.30pm.
