LA Productions founder Colin McKeown MBE today shares updates from the Liverpool-based independent production company.
LA Productions represented at MIPCOM
As the 32nd Annual MIPCOM Festival gets underway today in Cannes, Liverpool indie LA Productions finds itself well represented at the Palais des Festivals event, with billboards promoting not one, but two major productions with their international distribution partner Eccho Rights. Compulsion, a four-part thriller, transmitted earlier this year on Channel 5 starring Leanne Best and Anna Chancellor, and the eagerly anticipated BBC One Scotland drama Granite Harbour, transmission set for November/December, starring Romario Simpson and Hannah Donaldson, are both being advertised at the global entertainment festival.

BAFTA nominated Dubbing Mixer Harry Tulley takes next step in his career
Harry Tulley, who was a Nominee for the BAFTA Television Craft Award for Emerging Talent: Fiction 2021 for his dubbing work on the celebrated BBC Feature Anthony, for which its star Rakie Ayola took home a BAFTA for Supporting Acress, is to leave Liverpool-based LA Productions to take up a full-time post with Dock10 Post Production as a Dubbing Mixer from the 21st of November.
LA Chairman Colin McKeown said, “As much as we don’t like losing any of our staff, Harry is a very special talent, and I am sure he will be a huge credit on his future projects with Dock10 Post Production. We wish Harry all the best in this next step in his career”.
Colin McKeown runs for PACT Council
Dr Colin McKeown MBE, who runs the prolific LA Productions/LA Factual and who is also head of LA Film Academy, is entering the nominations for PACT Council Member in a bid to boost the representation of the North West within independent film and television.
Speaking about his motivation behind running for PACT Council Member, he says: “I think I am in an ideal position to ensure the North West of the UK has the right level of representation, and as a PACT Council Member I will be able to ensure that voice is heard throughout the industry”.
