Press Release

SHEFFIELD, UK - 30 September, 2026

Girls Don’t Sync will headline a major Halloween show at Electric Studios Sheffield on Saturday 31 October, joined by Big Ang, Frazer Ray and ESC, as the city-centre venue moves into a packed autumn season spanning electronic music, club culture and live shows.

The four-woman DJ collective, comprising Gaia Ahuja (G33), Hannah Lynch, Sophia Ryalls (Sophia Violet) and Matty Chiabi, have become one of the most exciting names in UK dance music, bringing together UK garage, house, bassline and sounds drawn from across Black diaspora and South Asian culture. Since forming in Liverpool in 2019, Girls Don’t Sync have risen from the UK club circuit to major festival stages and international audiences, including Glastonbury. They were named Breakthrough DJ at DJ Mag’s Best of British Awards in 2022 and selected by Mixmag among the DJs who defined 2024.

Their Sheffield Halloween appearance arrives as Electric Studios’ autumn programme gets firmly underway, with the former Leadmill building increasingly operating as a home for both major club events and touring live artists.

This Saturday, 3 October, Hybrid Minds headline a new chapter of Skank Out alongside Basslayerz and more, while the weeks ahead bring a broad mix of electronic and live music to Leadmill Road. The club programme includes Dusky bringing their Signals Tour to Sheffield on 16 October and Chicane on 7 November, alongside further events across the autumn. On the live side, the programme includes We Are Scientists, Goldie Lookin Chain, Dutty Moonshine Big Band, Overpass, Reef, Joshua Idehen and Barenaked Ladies, building on September shows including a sold-out appearance from St Etienne.

The growing programme reflects Electric Studios’ ambition to create a genuinely multi-purpose independent music venue, bringing touring artists, electronic music and Sheffield’s own music communities together under one roof.

Away from the main music programme, the wider Electric Studios building is also developing as a base for Sheffield’s creative community. Stand & Be Counted Theatre recently announced a new home at Above Electric Studios, adding to the organisations and creative activity taking place within the building.
