A business coach and an education leader who changed the fortunes of the largest colleges group in the West Midlands are set to headline a Black Country event for businesswomen next month. The Black Country Chamber of Commerce will hold its latest Women in Leadership event on October 8 in partnership with the University of Wolverhampton. Lisa Capper MBE, principal and CEO of Sandwell Colleges and business coach Jackie Casey will focus on how businesswomen can manage their time effectively to support a healthier work life balance. Lisa, who joined Sandwell Colleges in 2024 has helped to achieve a first ‘good’ Ofsted rating, while improving their reputation and profile. A former senior civil servant in the Department of Education and awarded an MBE in 2021 for services to young people, Lisa will discuss her experiences and managing priorities while remaining calm under pressure.

Stephanie Sullivan, head of marketing and communications at the Black Country Chamber of Commerce said: “We’re really looking forward to hearing from Lisa and Jackie. “Jackie runs her successful business in just two days a week and she’s going to be looking at practical skills to help people feel more in control and productive. “This event is for women at any stage of their careers, whether they are stepping into leadership or looking enhance their skillset. “It is great to have two inspirational people sharing their expertise and knowledge with us and I am sure there’s will be some really useful tips and techniques for those attending.” The event is being held at Sandwell Golf Club in West Bromwich on October 8 from 11.30 to 2pm.
