Guac Mexi Grill, a proudly Canadian fast-casual restaurant brand, today announced a nationwide effort to combat rising food insecurity with the launch of a National Holiday Food Drive in partnership with Food Banks Canada.
Running from December 15, 2025, to January 15, 2026, the initiative invites guests at all 55 Guac Mexi Grill locations to donate highly requested non-perishable food items. All donations will be directed to the nearest Food Banks Canada–supported distribution centre, ensuring direct local community impact during a period of critical need.
“At a time when the demand on local food banks is unprecedented, our commitment as a Canadian-founded brand must go beyond serving great food,” said Trushna Makadia, Founder & Owner of Guac Mexi Grill. “This national program unites our entire franchise system with a shared purpose: to strengthen the neighborhoods that support us and provide meaningful relief to families facing urgent need this holiday season.”
Expansion Fuels Purpose and Strategic Growth
The national food drive launches in tandem with the opening of Guac Mexi Grill Welland, the brand’s 55th restaurant location opening this December. The Welland store will immediately serve as a key donation hub for the local Niagara region, underscoring the brand’s community-first approach to growth.
To support this accelerated expansion across Canada and forthcoming entry into the United States, Guac Mexi Grill has strengthened its leadership structure with the addition of key executive talent, including David Anandaapa, Director of Operations, and Khemie Khan, Head of Marketing.
This bolstered leadership ensures operational efficiency and consistent brand execution across all markets. The team is poised to enhance the company’s readiness for strategic expansion while continuing to deliver a premium guest experience built on real cooking, bold flavour, and warm hospitality.
