Press Release

New Castle, DE - April 2, 2026)

Glossed & Gritty, a bold new lifestyle magazine (and movement), dedicated to women in the collision repair industry, is proud to announce the official launch of its first issue on March 31. The digital version of the Spring 2026 issue is now available for purchase, with print edition pre-orders open through April 10.

Founded on the principle that diversity strengthens the structural integrity of the entire trade, Glossed & Gritty seeks to mobilize “Collision DisruptHERs” – the women currently navigating the field and the students just beginning their journeys.

“Our goal is to give women a voice, greater visibility and a supportive community,” says Jannifer Stimmel-Watkins, Co-Founder and Technical Editor. “We are dedicated to highlighting every achievement and advocating for growth. There is room for us in this space, and it is time we shared that with the newer generations.”

Glossed & Gritty distinguishes itself by focusing on the lived experience of women in the shop and the front office. The debut issue features a tiered look at career progression – from the Primed Up-and-Comers just starting out to the Polished Pros who have established themselves…and all the way up to the DisruptHER Dynasty, identified as the women who broke through barriers to secure their seat at the table. In addition to profiles, the publication explores practical and systemic topics, including workwear designed for women, emerging repair technologies, leadership strategies and the evolving definition of expertise in a modern workforce.

The mission extends beyond the page. The Glossed & Gritty website is designed as a “living resource” and community hub where underrepresented voices can thrive without being forced to minimize themselves to fit in.

“Collision repair is more than just a job – it’s a responsibility that impacts safety, livelihoods, and futures,” adds Stimmel-Watkins.

Chasidy Rae Sisk, Co-Founder and Editor-in-Chief, emphasizes that the movement is about building a more inclusive future. “Women in collision are done asking for a seat at the table. Instead, we want to build a new one…with enough chairs for everyone who’s been overlooked, underestimated or unheard.”

Glossed & Gritty is built on accessibility. While entry-level community access is free, multiple subscription tiers allow professionals to level up their experience with exclusive benefits designed to fuel their career growth and connection to the movement.

“We aren’t here to echo what’s already being said,” Sisk stresses. “We want to discuss the things that no one wants to talk about – because nothing changes if we don’t address it – while finding ways to make collision repair a more welcoming industry for future generations.”
