Financial powerhouse Sedulo strengthens again with major Chief Technology Officer appointment

Leading business advisory group Sedulo has appointed Rocco Volpe as Chief Technology Officer.

Volpe, joining from Kings Secure Technologies, has been described as an ‘important and exciting’ addition by Sedulo founder Paul Cheetham-Karcz as the firm prepares to double in growth.

Sedulo operates nationwide, boasting stunning offices across London, Liverpool, Manchester and Leeds, employing over 180 staff, offering services in audit, accountancy, taxation, business consultancy, forensic accounting, financial planning, IT consultancy plus mergers and acquisitions.

The group confirmed annual growth of more than 25% for 2022, achieving annual revenue of £13.2m, with Sedulo growing significantly in 2023 having made the Accountancy Age Mid-Tier Power Index, and been featured as an Accountancy Age Top 75 UK firm.

Volpe adds to the growing management team at Sedulo following the appointments of National Heads of Audit, Taxation, Forensic Accounting and R&D over the last 12 months.

Volpe started his career teaching computer science before transitioning to technology manager at a Microsoft college. He later became IT Operations and Development manager at the Leeds Regional Development Agency, presiding over the entire Yorkshire and Humber regions. He was then promoted to IT Director during an 11 year spell.

After a period of consultancy management in the public and charity sectors, Volpe was appointed Chief Technology Officer of Kings Secure Technologies, where he spent almost nine years before agreeing to join Sedulo.

Volpe, in his role as Chief Technology Officer, arrives at Sedulo to oversee a period of major growth, with the group targeting a doubling in size across the next three years.

Volpe is also tasked with building the strategy and development of a software-as-a-service (SAAS) product, which finds technology-based solutions to everyday business problems for clients.

Sedulo are in the process of developing their first SAAS tool for business use, with a staff happiness score and weekly pulse scoring helping create a high-performance atmosphere while building a positive working atmosphere and widespread employee happiness.

This will be followed by a client happiness tool, 360 appraisal tool and technology to assist clients with ongoing reporting of their Research & Development sectors.

In a statement, Sedulo Group founder Paul Cheetham-Karcz said: “This is an important and exciting appointment for Sedulo and I am delighted to add Rocco to the team.

“As a group, Sedulo is always pushing to improve and find new innovations and solutions to benefit our clients and I believe Rocco will play an important part in this.

“Rocco joins with exciting ideas and objectives which will propel Sedulo forwards and ensure we have first-class technology platforms available to continuously modernise and refine the way we work as a group and alongside our clients.”

Rocco Volpe added: “I have always worked as a leader in IT and been responsible for creating and building sophisticated IT solutions. But I also work with development teams because I am so interested in data-centric development and producing intelligence and information based around hard data.

“I am so excited to join Sedulo because there is a lot of progress we can make together. The development of a software platform for the finance sector genuinely excites me.

“After speaking to Paul and other areas of management, I believe there is a lot we can do here. It feels a ripe time to join the group and offer new services to continue the growth and improvement of Sedulo.”

Volpe will work across the four Sedulo offices in London, Liverpool, Manchester and Leeds.
