Fast growing London-based aesthetics business plans significant expansion in 2023

A brother-and-sister team, Ducu and Viviana Botoaca, who launched a premium medical clinic in Soho, DrDucu London, just over a year ago, have grown its non-surgical and surgical procedures into one of the most successful medical businesses in London, with franchises in Canada and the United States. The company is planning to open a second clinic in London as well as two more clinics in the US in 2023.

Having come to the UK eight years ago to work as a doctor, Ducu moved into providing aesthetics treatments and hair transplants, becoming the youngest finalist for World Medical Congress Aesthetic Awards and a leading hair transplant surgeon.

Together with Viviana, who continues to work as a lawyer, the pair founded a clinic, DrDucu London, in Wardour Street in December 2021. Just six months later, they opened two franchises in Canada and are opening clinics in New York and Philadelphia at the beginning of 2023 as well as looking for further premises in London as they continue to expand.

Offering a range of unique medical treatments, surgical and non-surgical procedures, including fillers and botox, and hair and eyebrow transplants, the DrDucu medical clinic features state-of-the-art laser technology from Préime, with support from Laseraid, the leading ‘one stop shop’ for the growing UK market in aesthetic laser provision.

With an international reputation, Dr Ducu has developed unique techniques to improve the performance of injectable aesthetics, minimising and preventing risks and side effects; he also trains doctors and practitioners from around the world at the London clinic. Already, the clinic has grown into a 12-strong team, including five doctors and surgeons.

Dr Ducu comments: “We come from a long line family of doctors and  our vision was to set up a premium clinic in a medical setting which would offer the very latest skills and technology, as well as focusing on providing customers with exceptional service. We knew of Laseraid’s international reputation and their ethos for quality fitted perfectly with our own – they provide the best devices on the market, helping us to achieve the very best results for customers.”

Co-founder of DrDucu Viviana Botoaca, who has been a lawyer for 12 years, working with world-renowned companies, comments: “We have been extremely impressed with the Préime DermaFacial device supplied to us by Laseraid, it is fast and efficient, we call it ‘Premium Preime’. There is really smart science behind it and, using a unique treatment created by my brother, customers feel the results are equivalent to a non-invasive, needle-free face lift. Given our rapid growth, Laseraid’s all-inclusive service, which includes consumables, supports our business model and will be invaluable as we continue our rapid expansion.”

She continues: “The London clinic has done incredibly well in a very short space of time and is already fully booked, so we are currently looking for premises for a second clinic in central London which will focus on non-surgical procedures and medical devices. Many of the doctors and nurses from around the world who come to train with my brother are keen to open clinics in their own countries using the DrDucu name and techniques, and we are, therefore, planning to open franchises globally as well as wanting to launch a dedicated training academy. Having a reliable supplier of aesthetic devices like Laseraid at our side, who can deliver industry-leading devices and outstanding service, will be vital as we pursue our growth journey.”

Jamel Hussain, commercial director of Laseraid, commented: “DrDucu is an incredible success story, built on Ducu’s world-class aesthetics and surgical skills, together with Viviana’s business and legal expertise and an ambitious shared vision. We look forward to continuing to support them as they build the business and drive quality, knowledge and professionalism within the medical sector.”

In response to the increased use of lasers by clinics, doctors and dermatology specialists for a wide range of treatments, Laseraid, a market leader in aesthetic laser provision in Australia, brought its services to the UK in 2021. It provides state-of-the-art, premium branded aesthetic laser equipment, including an all-inclusive subscription model or sales options, as well as training and dependable servicing to clinic owners and operators nationwide.
