Derby set to welcome new premium workspace, Oakhurst, on Ashbourne Road

A new high-end flexible workspace designed for modern professionals and growing businesses is set to open on Ashbourne Road at the end of the May.

Oakhurst will bring a new style of premium workspace to Derby, offering private offices, flexible memberships and hot desks within a calm, hospitality-led environment designed for entrepreneurs, creatives and established professional businesses.

Positioned above the Sugar Loaf cafe, which will open later this summer, Oakhurst forms part of a wider destination focused on work, hospitality and community, combining workspace and independent cafe culture within a single connected setting.

The concept has been inspired by the character and heritage of the building itself, with the name Oakhurst referencing the late Victorian tradition of naming suburban professional villas, reflecting values of permanence, quality and quiet confidence.

Designed around the changing expectations of modern work, Oakhurst will offer private serviced offices, flexible memberships, hot desks, meeting and collaboration spaces, high speed connectivity, on-site cafe facilities, parking for members and visitors, and design-led interiors focused on comfort and wellbeing.

The workspace takes inspiration from a new generation of premium work environments emerging in cities such as London and Copenhagen, where hospitality, flexibility and design are central to the workplace experience.

Unlike traditional serviced offices, Oakhurst aims to create a more timeless and considered environment focused on professionalism, longevity and community, appealing to freelancers, startups, consultants and established businesses looking for a premium base in Derby.

A spokesperson for Oakhurst said: “We wanted to create a workspace that feels calm, considered and genuinely enjoyable to spend time in.

“Too many serviced offices still feel transactional and corporate. Oakhurst has been designed around quality, hospitality and creating an environment where people can do their best work.”

Located on Ashbourne Road, the development is expected to attract businesses looking for a more design-led and hospitality-focused alternative to conventional office space, supported by the addition of an independent cafe opening below later this year.

Membership details and viewing appointments will be announced ahead of the launch. You can follow @oakhurst.works on Instagram or visit https://www.oakhurst.works/ to be the first to hear latest updates.
