Production has officially begun in Augusta, Georgia on the highly anticipated independent dark comedy feature film Not So Bright, written, produced and starring Dylan Fincher and Willis Fincher. The film is also written, produced and directed by World Entertainment Award winner, and NAACP Image Award nominated filmmaker Choice Skinner (A New Life, Wingman Inc.).
The Fincher duo stars as Dylan and Willis respectively, two brothers with a knack for bad decisions who embark on a hilariously chaotic journey filled with misadventures, absurd twists, and unpredictable outcomes while pursuing their lifelong dream of making it to Comic-Con.
Not So Bright is an original independent feature that blends awkward humor with sharp comedic moments. This film brings a fresh voice to today’s film landscape by recapturing the nostalgic, comedic flavor of classic films from the 90’s, like Pineapple Express, and Superbad. The project marks the first time Dylan and Willis Fincher headline a feature together, delivering performances that promise to entertain and impress audiences.
Director Choice Skinner, known for his passion for authentic, relatable, and diverse storytelling, shared his excitement for the project:
“This film is about capturing the truth, humor, and random events people experience while navigating their lives and facing insane circumstances in unexpected ways. Augusta has given us a beautiful backdrop to tell this story, and I couldn’t ask for a better team in Dylan and Willis to help bring it to life.”
The production has drawn attention within the independent film community not only for its talented cast and creative team but also for its decision to film in Augusta, Georgia, a city rapidly becoming a hub for filmmakers seeking both unique locations and a supportive artistic community.
Not So Bright is currently in production and will continue filming throughout the fall. The film boasts several of its official sponsors as Hollyland, Laowa, Honeyrose Herbal Smokes, Artemis Pro (Chemical Wedding), Prop Money Inc., Filmustage AI Software and Openmoon. Release details and festival premieres will be announced at a later date.
Skinner is repped by Ross Stephens Artists & Entertainment; Fincher by Jay Pervis Talent Agency.
