NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE, UK - November 19, 2025

The Borderlands Partnership, which oversees the Borderlands Inclusive Growth Deal, has appointed Karol Marketing as its PR and communications agency.

The appointment, which was part of a competitive tender process, marks another positive milestone for the marketing group – which also owns Fusion PR Creative – as it continues to expand its regional communications expertise and client base, alongside its sector specialisms in health, energy, tourism, and brand communications.

Stefan Lepkowski, Managing Director of Karol Marketing says: “I am thrilled that Borderlands has chosen to work with us on the delivery of communications for this ambitious cross-border collaboration.

“It is a testament to our team’s experience and expertise that we’ve secured this exciting brief, and we can’t wait to get started on raising the profile of the many projects and programmes which support the strategic investment themes of the Borderlands Inclusive Growth Deal: enabling infrastructure, improving places, supporting business, innovation and skills, and encouraging green growth.

Mr Lepkowski added: “We are passionate about the place we call home, so it’s incredibly rewarding to be involved in profiling activity which is key to delivering sustainable and inclusive economic benefits right across the region, the North of England and the South of Scotland too.”

Rick O’Farrell, Director of the Borderlands Partnership says: “We’re happy to have Karol Marketing onboard during a very exciting time for the partnership. I look forward to our two teams working together and with our partners to amplify the fantastic work we are doing across our border.”

Karol Marketing works with a number of regional organisations in the North of England, including the Hadrian’s Wall Country Partnership, Sunderland City Council, Northumbria University, and the NHS.
