Led by Former U.S. Army Ranger and Crypto4Harris Organizer, BlueVault Emerges from Stealth to Help Progressive Committees Tap Into America’s 55 Million Bitcoin and Crypto Owners Ahead of 2026 Midterms
BlueVault today emerged from stealth with the launch of the first compliance-focused cryptocurrency donation platform built exclusively for Democratic political committees. After a year of development in partnership with campaign finance leaders and progressive Bitcoin and crypto donors nationwide, BlueVault provides the infrastructure enabling Democratic campaigns to accept Bitcoin and stablecoin donations with full FEC compliance.
“Crypto owners aren’t the MAGA base the media portrays them as – they’re politically diverse, and many identify as Democrats and progressives,” said Will Schweitzer, Founder and CEO of BlueVault and former U.S. Army Ranger. “But right now, Democrats haven’t given them a reason to engage – and many are watching Trump turn Bitcoin into a personal grift with growing unease. BlueVault changes that. We’re giving every Democratic committee the infrastructure to connect with crypto donors who believe in fair innovation, not billionaire speculation – voters who share progressive values but have felt invisible to the party on this issue.”
The Crypto Voter Opportunity: A Constituency Up for Grabs
Recent research reveals that crypto owners represent a pivotal – and persuadable – electoral bloc that Democrats are losing not on ideology, but on values based engagement:
The Scale: Approximately 55 million American adults – 21% of the U.S. adult population – own cryptocurrency, representing roughly one in seven voters nationwide.¹
The Political Reality: Crypto owners defy partisan stereotypes. According to Paradigm’s Spring 2025 market research, crypto owners split nearly evenly: 37% identify as Republican, 36% as Democrat, and 24% as independent. Ideologically, 31% identify as liberal, 29% as conservative, and 37% as moderate.²
The Trust Gap: Despite this political balance, Democrats face a significant trust deficit on crypto policy. An October 2025 Digital Chamber survey found that 37% of crypto investors trust Republicans to advance crypto policy compared to just 24% who trust Democrats – with 16% trusting neither party.³ This gap exists even though the same survey found that crypto investors “skew a bit left” politically.⁴
The Swing Voter Profile: These voters are the definition of persuadable. The Digital Chamber research found that crypto owners “identify as Democrats on paper but say they plan to back Republicans on the generic congressional ballot, with many saying candidates’ crypto stances will influence their vote for Congress.”⁵
The Democratic Opportunity: Research from the Bitcoin Policy Institute shows exactly how Democrats can win these voters back. Their June 2025 analysis found that for Democratic voters, the strongest driver of support for pro-Bitcoin candidates is “the belief that Bitcoin enhances financial freedom for people living under unstable governments” – a framing with equity and human rights at its core.⁶
“The data is clear: crypto owners aren’t lost to Democrats – they’re waiting for Democrats to show up,” added Schweitzer, who served as an organizer for Crypto4Harris during the 2024 cycle. “These are younger, diverse, college-educated voters who care about financial inclusion and distrust concentrated power. Those are progressive values. BlueVault is how progressive committees finally engage with them.”
Platform Features: Connecting Committees with Crypto Donors

Built for Compliance, Powered by Regulated Partners
BlueVault was architected from day one with campaign finance compliance at its core. The platform integrates exclusively with federally regulated cryptocurrency custody and payment rail providers:
-
Industry-leading institutional custody for secure cryptocurrency storage
-
Regulated payment infrastructure for compliant crypto-to-fiat conversion
-
Automated generation of FEC Schedule A and Schedule B reports, comprehensive audit trails, and Know Your Business (KYB) verification for all participating committees
“Crypto donations aren’t new – they’ve been FEC-compliant since 2014,” noted Schweitzer. “What’s been missing is infrastructure that makes compliance automatic and accessible to every committee, not just those with dedicated crypto expertise. BlueVault handles the complexity so campaigns can focus on winning.”
BlueVault will roll out additional features for donors and committees throughout the coming weeks, with fully self-service committee onboarding launching this spring.
