More than £3,000 has been raised for Beacon Centre for the Blind by generous members of the Black Country Chamber of Commerce.
The charity, which supports people living with a range of sight conditions, was the Chamber’s charity of the year for 2025/26.
Chamber chief executive Sarah Moorhouse said: “It’s been a privilege to raise so much money for Beacon Centre for the Blind during what was its 150th anniversary year.
“This has been a real team effort with some fantastic events and we really hope that our year-long partnership has been a platform for raising awareness of the incredible work Beacon do in helping people live well with sight loss.”
Lisa Sadler-Todd, Chief Executive of Beacon Centre, said: “We are incredibly grateful to the Black Country Chamber of Commerce and its members for their generosity and support throughout our 150th Anniversary year.
“The funds raised will make a real difference in helping us continue to provide vital support to people living with sight loss across the region. We are delighted to have been one of the first Bostin’ businesses and created lasting connections with so many organisations and individuals.”
A grand total of £3,701 was raised through a series of Chamber initiatives, including a game of Heads or Tails at last year’s Business Awards and a raffle at the International Women’s Day event in March.
Black Country Women’s Aid (BCWA) has been chosen as this year’s Chamber charity of the year.
BCWA, an independent charity celebrating its 40th anniversary, supports survivors of domestic abuse, sexual violence, modern slavery and stalking.
Black Country Chamber of Commerce is the leading support organisation for businesses across Wolverhampton, Dudley, Sandwell and Walsall.
