Manchester’s Green Bean Studios has unveiled an exciting new children’s toy, Beckett the Bee, which is exclusively on sale at Manchester Museum and The Whitworth Art Gallery England.
This latest announcement follows the recent launch of Green Bean’s Garden, the latest sensory board book in the multi-award winning collection from Green Bean Studios®.
To celebrate the new book and toy releases, author and founder of Green Bean Studios, Anita Frost, hosted an exclusive storytime session at the Manchester Museum on Saturday 27th July. The free, interactive event saw Anita introduce Green Bean & Friends, and provide children and their families with the opportunity to discover, learn and have fun together with the ever popular and lovable characters.
Anita Frost, commented: “Manchester is synonymous with worker bees, so the launch of our new toy, Beckett the Bee, alongside our new sensory board book, really symbolises how Green Bean is building the next generation of workers through play, and reading for pleasure. By combining literature with adventure, fun and the great outdoors, we hope to inspire a love of both in the earliest years of our children’s lives.
“Our lively storytimes are always really popular, both for the children and for the adults who can then share precious moments with their young people. Being part of Manchester Museum’s Wild exhibition is a great way to highlight the fun adventures we can all have outdoors in nature, and this session will really bring to life Green Bean and his friends and how much they all enjoy discovering the world around them.”
Emma Gittins, Head Buyer & Product Developer from Manchester Museum, said: “Collaboration with talented Mancunian makers and creatives sits at the heart of our approach in the Manchester Museum Shop. So we’re thrilled to have the chance to work with Anita, not only because the Green Bean range is so unique but also because it’s such a fun way to engage young audiences around one of our core values of sustainability.”
Green Bean has become a household friend for many children and families, both across the UK and around the world.
Anita Frost’s newest book, Green Bean’s Garden, and latest toy, Beckett the Bee, are currently sold exclusively through the Manchester Museum, where Green Bean is the leading character mascot of the recently unveiled Wild exhibition. Beckett the Bee is also sold at The Whitworth Art Gallery England.
Backed by Innovate UK via the ECO award, the colourful adventure book is the latest addition to Green Bean Studios’ collection of children’s books, featuring leading character, Green Bean and lovable friends as they go on fun outdoor adventures in the fictional lands of Adventure Dales. Green Bean’s Garden is an engaging, sensory, lift-the-flap board book which helps young children to spark a love of reading whilst learning about the environment.
Anita added: “We designed Green Bean’s Garden to provide young readers with wonderful sensory experiences, while creating opportunities to share precious moments with their grown ups. Our storytime session at Manchester Museum encouraged curiosity and exploration and empowered children and their families to really make the most of our incredible world, while silencing the distractions of screens.”
Helping more children to read for pleasure is the core mission at Green Bean Studios. The new book has been specially developed drawing on 20 years of child development experience, with interactive lift-the-flaps to engage with young children and give them a sensory experience to nurture a love of reading from a young age.
Green Bean’s Garden features brightly coloured images and a fun story that helps children develop key skills whilst enjoying wholesome entertainment with familiar characters.
Green Bean’s Garden is currently on sale exclusively in-store at the Manchester Museum, and can also be ordered online; priced at £14.99, the book comes with a free Green Bean & Friends magazine, which includes stickers, crafts and much more.
