Press Release

MESQUITE, Texas, Aug. 25, 2026

The United Grid League will close its 2026 regular season Aug. 29-30 at the North Texas Strength Expo, where six matches over two days will determine which teams advance to United Grid League Finals Weekend, Oct. 3-4 at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland, Florida.

The United Grid League is a semi-professional, co-ed team sport league where men and women compete together in fast-paced, head-to-head races combining strength, gymnastics, speed, endurance and strategy. Athletes compete as specialists, with coaches deploying different combinations of players based on the demands of each race.

The Texas matches follow a pivotal weekend at American Dream in East Rutherford, New Jersey, where the playoff picture tightened considerably. New York won twice in front of its home crowd, while Texas’ own Houston Bandits enter the final weekend undefeated at 2-0 with two matches remaining. With three teams from each conference advancing to the postseason, the weekend in Texas leaves little room for error. Teams still fighting for position have one last opportunity to secure a playoff spot or improve their seeding, with the top seed in each conference earning a first-round bye.

The six UGL matches will take place as part of the North Texas Strength Expo at the Mesquite Convention Center, alongside a weekend of strength sports and competitions. The six teams that survive the regular season will advance to the United Grid League Championship Event & Expo, Oct. 3-4 at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland, where two rounds of playoff competition will lead to the 2026 United Grid League Championship.

The two-day event will also feature amateur Grid competition, adult and youth strongman competitions from Strength Sports America, the Future Titan Games for youth, and an amateur cornhole tournament with cash prizes organized by the American Cornhole League. A vendor village and family activities will also be available throughout the weekend. Tickets for United Grid League Finals Weekend will be available at UnitedGridLeague.com/tickets.
