Press Release

24th April 2026 - London

POP MART, the global designer collectibles and entertainment brand, announces the debut of SKULLPANDA’s latest series, Petals in Four Acts. The launch is marked by a dual-city exhibition taking place simultaneously in London and Amsterdam on 24 April 2026.

At Harrods, the exhibition transforms POP MART’s permanent retail space into a narrative-led floral installation, marking a new phase in the brand’s presence within one of the world’s most iconic luxury destinations. In parallel, a parallel exhibition opens in Amsterdam, extending the launch across two leading cultural capitals.

Reflecting on the concept, artist Xiong Miao says:

“Flowers are nature’s soliloquy, moving through an endless cycle of budding, blooming, and withering, where time leaves its rhythm and shapes their destiny. With this series, I wanted to express the ‘Shape of Infinity,’ in which passion, doubt, and rebirth exist within a single continuous narrative. These stages are not only reflections of nature, but also of the human experience itself, tracing a journey from light to darkness, where every ending carries the potential for renewal. This collection is an invitation to embrace transformation as an essential part of our shared human story.”

The installation builds on the success of 2025’s The Feast Begins series and exhibition, which debuted across London and Paris, and reflects an ongoing evolution in how POP MART presents its IP through large-scale, immersive environments. At its core, Petals in Four Acts expands designer collectibles into a form of poetic storytelling. Rooted in botanical symbolism and shaped by the dramatic tradition of classical literature, the series explores the cyclical nature of life through four distinct stages: emergence, passion, introspection, and decay.

Drawing inspiration from the works of William Shakespeare, the series uses flowers and plants as narrative vessels to explore the interplay between time, fate, and human emotion. In A Midsummer Night’s Dream, love appears in its most innocent form, where misalignment gives rise to possibility; in Romeo and Juliet, passion and conflict reach their fullest expression; in Hamlet, loyalty and tragedy intertwine as beauty begins to fade; and in Macbeth, desire turns to decay, as power and ambition ultimately lead to destruction. Across these acts, the life cycle of flowers mirrors the arc of human destiny, from light to darkness, from hope to despair, while quietly holding the promise of renewal.

Within Harrods, visitors are invited into a carefully curated environment where floral architecture, classical soundscapes, and spatial design converge to bring the narrative to life. To honour the brand’s relationship with its community, the UK team will introduce a series of considered in-store moments, including bespoke flower basket wrapping and limited-edition gifting, positioning the space as a dedicated hub for community, connection, and discovery.

Since establishing its permanent boutique presence at Harrods in 2025, POP MART has continued to position SKULLPANDA not simply as a collectible, but as a narrative-driven artistic universe. Petals in Four Acts represents a further step in this direction, connecting a global audience through storytelling, design, and shared cultural heritage.
